CAMPS - Far from everything and close to the bare essentials

Our travel agency has the advantage of owning permanent campsites during the climbing season. They have the enough comfort to spend a good deal of time, being fully equipped with wide dinner tents, electrical light, tables and chairs, tableware, kitchen tent, storage tent and toiletes. Besides, our staff will provide you with an excellent service.

PUENTE DEL INCA HOSTEL

During the Inca Empire, Puente del Inca was a strategic point for crossing of the Andes Mountains. And over the last 80 years it has become the point of departure for every expedition, whose aim is to reach the summit of Mt. Aconcagua.

Puente del Inca Hostel was built here, at just five kilometres from the Aconcagua park entrance.

TRANSPORT OF LOAD BY MULES

Aymará Adventures & Expeditions owns more than 100 mules which carry people and your belongings. We have a selected and professional team who has dedicated its life to country and to the animals: THE MULETEERS. Experience has taught them to understand and to deal with these animals.

Each mule can carry up to a limit of 180 kg. However, as we are concern about our animals' well being we only carry 60 kg so as they can move comfortably on the mountain.

In Puente del Inca we have a local area for you to deliver and pick up your luggage, as well as in our camps in Confluencia, Plaza de Mulas y Plaza Argentina. In each place there are permanent people in charge.

When your expedition comes to an end in any of the base camps, we can reserve your return mules through radial communication.

When you hire the mule service with Aymara, the following is included:

Storage room in Puente del Inca and base camps.

Vehicle transportation from your lodging in Puente del Inca or Penitentes up to the valley where your trekking starts (Horcones Valley or Vacas Valley)

The right to use the toilets in our base camps.

When you hire return mules, we compromise to freely take your waste down from the base camp to Puente del Inca. In this case, our staff in the base camps will sign your climbing permit in order to give proof that our company will be responsibe for your garbage.

We strongly recommend you to bring a strong duffel bag to cover your load to be carried by mules, as well as covering the ends of ice axes and crampons to avoid hurting the animals. If you load your backpack on the mules, remember to close all the buckles. We do not forget the rebellious nature of the mules.

PORTERS TO HIGH CAMPS

In Aymará Adventures and Expeditions, we believe that the Porters' job to carry the common equipment of the expedition as tents, altitude food, fuel, etc., can help the team members move in a more comfortable way in the mountain and as a result, with more energy to achieve their goal, which is reaching the summit.

One porter will carry 20 kg to the predetermined destination. Therefore, If you buy two porters, you are assuring that 40 kg. will be carried to the final destination, and does not necessarily have to do with the number of porters that will do the work.
