Our departures are 100% guaranteed and have the highest amount of expedition dates to the Aconcagua summit than anyone else. Once we set a departure date we do not cancel the expedition. Unlike the rest of the companies that organize ascents, we believe that the risk must be taken by the company and not by the client. And, although few people have booked, the program is carried out without any surcharges, respecting the original itinerary and all the services included in the program.

Lifetime Deposits

One of our policies is protecting your money from unpredictable events that could make you cancel your trip or suspend it for a while.

If by any chance you need to cancel your participation in one of our expeditions, your initial booking deposit will be valid from for lifetime and so you will be able to use it whenever you need it and have the possibility of taking part in this expedition.

In addition, in case you cannot take the service, your reservation deposit is totally transferable* to whom you decide can use it.

* Only transferable to any person who wishes to climb the Aconcagua Mountain.

Bad Weather Insurance

We work hard so that our clients have the greatest chance of success in the Aconcagua. However, if due to bad weather conditions on the mountain, your expedition cannot reach the Summit of the Aconcagua during the normal days of the program; you will have the unique opportunity of joining one of our groups of schedule expedition within the next three years by only 50% of the value of the program.

Also, as you can confirm, we are the company with the highest amount of expedition dates in Mt. Aconcagua and all guaranteed. This gives you the advantage of joining another expedition group which is about to climb from the base camp, making use of this insurance. To access this option you must have paid the chosen program to its public list price, without any discount or promotion.

The Largest Amount of Expedition Dates

30 fixed expedition dates to the Summit of Aconcagua through two different routes. This is almost a departure every 5 days and they are all guaranteed. We also operate private expedition through 4 different routes; Normal Route, Polish Glacier Traverse Route (Valle de Vacas - Upper Guanacos - Normal Route), Vacas Valley Route and Polish Glacier Direct Route.

Each season we are the first company providing services within the Aconcagua Park, with fixed camps in Confluence, Plaza de Mulas and Plaza Argentina.

Own Services

We have the largest offer of services within the Aconcagua. In order to guarantee a uniform quality we have our own services - no outsourced - in every corner of the mountain.

Owning services gives us also an incredible flexibility, the possibility of controlling quality, offering the best cost.

We have:

  • Two offices for customer service in Mendoza city.
  • Three Base Camps: Confluence, Plaza de Mulas and Plaza Argentina. They are completely equipped with more than 30 dining room tents between the 3 base camps, tables, chairs, light, storage tents, and the possibility of charging batteries, among others. Here, you will also enjoy the cordial care of our people.
  • Staff of more than 25 owned porters between both routes available.
  • 50 fixed guides working each season for us.
  • A troop of over 120 mules of cargo, which are looked after with the maximum veterinary standards.
  • Transportation in own vehicles from Mendoza to the entrance of Aconcagua Park, and return.

Quality Equipment

We only use the best brands of mountain equipment because we know that we cannot risk the Summit because of a broken tent or a stove that does not work. That is why we apply strict procedures of maintenance that are met during the year to ensure the best performance.

We strive to keep our mountain materials updated and therefore, certify the highest standards of safety and quality of available equipment. Normally, Mt. Aconcagua is a mountain with good weather during the summer, but if we have to know its storm days, then we will take dimension of the force of nature at this stage. Therefore, we do not doubt of providing our expeditions with high quality sleeping tents for the height camps.

We are proud to be one of the few Argentine companies that counts with the support of The North Face for its expeditions. That is why our star is a model that has proved a great performance over the years: The North Face Ve25.

Today, we also have a cooperation agreement with Mountain Hardware to use their tents Trango 2 and 3 in Aconcagua.

In this regard, nothing differentiates us from foreign companies.

Environmental and Social Responsibility

There is not another way. The companies are ethically obliged to interact, collaborate and work in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

Social work:

Collaboration with the institutions that act in our society is a way with which we have fixed the path. During the last two seasons we have been recognized by the Government with distinctions that highlight the corporate social commitment.

Now we tell you a little bit more about the organizations we work with:

  • We have been relating to teachers and managers of the kindergarten "Jarillita" for more than 3 years, which has a population of children with limited financial resources. Here, it functions a child room and at the beginning of the school year each year we make a major donation of food, and we contribute with material inputs, clothing and recycled materials that they use to develop their classroom activities and supply some basic needs.
  • We made a commitment with the municipality of Las Heras to assist the social dining room "Hijos de Nuestro Valle", which is attended by children and teenagers from the town of Uspallata, the closest town to the Aconcagua Mountain.
  • We are proud of having committed ourselves to technological scientific projects that allow the care of our most valuable treasure: the environment.

Firstly, there are already two seasons that we have provided support services to the SIGMA project, which aims to investigate the continental drift and has installed censors in Mt. Aconcagua from the base up to the Summit, that are monitored by satellite. This project is supported by the technological Scientific Council of Argentina, and it has the participation of other educational institutions at the international level as the Ohio State University.

Secondly, we collaborate with the project "Danger of mass removal processes", in the Aconcagua Provincial Park sponsored by the prestigious Universidad Nacional de Cuyo.

  • Every season we collaborate with the expeditions of the most prestigious mountain clubs in Argentina, such as Club Andino Bariloche and Club Andino Esquel  
  • From November to March we contribute with medicine donations to the sector of nursing of the Argentine army in Puente del Inca. This is the only post health area, therefore it is vital its proper operation.
  • We are actively involved with the rescue patrol of the Aconcagua making donations of technical material to rescue and disseminate the actions carried out by the same.

Environmental sensitivity:

We help to protect the environment in the following way:

  • We adhere to the international program "Leave no Trace" with consequent monitoring.
  • Together with the park rangers we perform daily control actions.
  • We have portable bathrooms and we perform the corresponding disposal of human waste from altitude camps.
  • We carry out a continuous cleaning of the height, base and approximation camps, via the both routes. See proceedings of the Government by done cleaning
  • We apply all guidelines for Good Practices issued by the management of Renewable Resources. See 
  • We carry out a monitoring and health control of our mules used for the transport of loads between base camps.

Protection and Security

Undoubtedly, the safety and protection of our clients in the mountain is one of our major occupations.

Over the years, our security standards in Aconcagua have proven to be the best and the most appropriate in this mountain, minimizing the risks for our clients. We are proud of the work that we have developed and this is a daily part of our processes on the mountain.

To sum up, we want to let you know some lines of action that we develop for your care.

  • We are the only company that has an operational contingency plan for searching and rescue of people in Aconcagua. This plan was developed with the Rescue Patrol of the Aconcagua and approved by the authorities of the Government for its implementation. Ask the company you are choosing this plan and its presentation to the authorities of the Park. We gladly will send it. 
  • We provide oxygen tanks to the height camps.
  • For emergency cases, we have a portable hyperbaric chamber in each of our base camps (Plaza de Mulas and Plaza Argentina).
  • Our guides are continuously trained in search and rescue exercises coordinated with the Rescue Patrol of the Aconcagua.
  • We have complete kits in each base camp (Confluencia, Plaza de Mulas, and Plaza Argentina)
  • We have radio network in the entire mountain, including Mendoza city. In addition, we are the only company with national empowerment to operate radio stations. Ask your operator this license. If it does not have it, it is infringing a major national law.   
  • We perform a satellite tracking of our expeditions with warning to patrol and headquarters.
  • Aymara has a direct operation agreement with the company's helicopters operating in the Aconcagua Park. Therefore, we guarantee the greatest effort to make a rescue flight with the maximum possible speed. In addition, this allows us to offer our passengers a one-time fee to make use of the service.
  • We have satellite phones in all our camps.
  • All our guides carry digital pulse oximeter to check your oxygen saturation when necessary.
  • Our guides are enrolled with degrees awarded by recognized national and international bodies.
  • All our guides, leaders or assistants, carry equipment consisting of a first aid kit for rugged areas and technical equipment for rescue and evacuation.
  • We carry out a fine follow-up to our register of accidents or potential situations in the mountains, with which we evaluate areas of increased risk for our customers. In this way, we look at what parts of the body are the most prone to damage, and this study annually spin lines of action to minimize the risk.
  • All our base and approximation camps follow security protocols and they are issued by the authorities of implementation.

The "Moment of Truth"

So you can ensure a good choice, it is very important that you distinguish between a simple internet address (virtual company) and a legally enabled company.

It is sad having to make this assertion, but Internet is inevitably present in our lives and along with the benefits that it gives us, there are also disadvantages. Tourism requires that you pay the services before taking them, and this is the "moment of truth" in which the differences between what you were promised and what you are really receiving comes to light; without the possibility of reversing.

It is pathetic to see how every year in the Aconcagua, people that bought a promise on the web are cheated and do not have anyone who claim.

Do not be fooled. Today there are dozens of websites that sell lies without the ability to comply with what was promised, or hundreds of internet domains that just resell products to get an extra profit.

Do not pay more. Make sure that the company that is on the screen also exists in the field. Climbing the Aconcagua is not like buying a ticket plane or renting a car, these are services in which the maximum damage you may suffer is minimal in comparison to an accident at 6000m of height, life is at risk. Organizing an expedition to the Summit of Aconcagua requires knowledge that only the best and most experienced companies can assure.

Make your "moment of truth" a pleasurable experience and not a constant uncertainty and disappointment. We advise you to carry out the following checks:

  • Verify that it is a service provider legally empowered authorities of the Aconcagua Park. To do so enter the official website of the Aconcagua Park www.aconcagua.mendoza.gov.ar  Once inside press "Mountaineering and Trekking", then enter to "Services" and click "Private Services". There, you will find the list of companies authorized to work within the Aconcagua Park, with its tax per day.
  • Check the file number of the National Directorate of services tourist of the Secretary of tourism of the nation. All the tourism companies are identified with this number and ours is 7639.

You can check all this and find any other company on the following website of the Ministry of tourism of the nation: www.turismo.gov.ar/

Once there, in the link "Travel agents" click on the button "Receptive tourism." Then, enter by pressing "Agencies that operate incoming tourism". Press "Query per file" and enter our number, 7639. Thus, you will see that we are a legally enabled company.

You can do the same with the rest of the companies, and if one it is not on this page it means that it is not legally enabled to market tourism in Argentina.

Quality Guarantee

We know that encouraged to carry out an adventure is not easy, much more if it will be in a place far from home, where people do not know will welcome you and with the uncertainty of not knowing if services which has hired will be as expected.

We are the first Argentine company of expeditions to certify the quality standard ISO 9001: 2000 which governs all our processes.

For an organization such as Aymara adventure & expeditions be within the standards of an international standard of quality is a big commitment. This means that when you hire our services and they are confirmed, the company assumes them an obligation. The unfulfillment of the requirements that our passengers have requested in a timely manner can bring serious consequences.

Any organization is responsible for the development of their processes, generating tools that allow to have control and traceability. Also any certified entity must undergo permanent evaluative controls on behalf of third and independent entities which control the compliance with and the adequacy of the system.

Our system was certified by the well-known company SGS Argentina (Socíeté General de Surveillance) and this puts us at the forefront in Argentina in what refers to systems of quality in tourism organizations that develop expeditions or non-conventional programs.

During December 2010 we also certified specific quality standards for mountaineering IRAM-SECTUR 45510 of mountaineering. These quality standards were developed to highlight the quality companies in Argentina standards.

Aymará was selected by the Government to be one of the first companies to achieve this ambitious goal. This was successfully reached last December when we were audited in all our processes, from the marketing until the operation height, passing through transportation, mules, guides mountain, porters, base camps, meals of height, maintenance of the material of expedition and all the processes involved in your journey.

High Mountain Professional Guides

Today our team has some of the most experienced and talented high mountain guides in Argentina. Along with them during the last two decades we have built a long legacy of safety, success and satisfaction of our customers. We believe that there is no substitute for our experience of the past 10 years, guiding our expeditions to over 4,000 customers from all over the world. This certainly makes us one of the most active companies operating services of mountain guides in the Aconcagua Park.

In our expeditions, we maintain a relationship of a high mountain guide every 3 passengers minimum (1: 3) and sometimes if we deem it necessary add from our base camp a guide for a relationship (1: 2). Read more about our guides.

Acclimatization, The Key to the Summit

we are sure that the key to reach the Summit of Aconcagua is the acclimatization and this takes time. So thanks to our extensive experience, we develop the program that will give you the best opportunities to reach the Summit. We include a night in Puente del Inca, two nights in the intermediate camps (3,000 meters) and five nights at the Base camps. (4,300 meters). In addition, by the Normal route we were the market leaders to propose climb Mt. Bonete as part of the process of acclimatization. Today there are several companies that copied our programs each year. In this way, our expedition manages to give the same opportunity to all members of the group and not only the strong. If you feel that this fails, please contact us for our extensions and the possibility of joining the EAP (Extra acclimatization program) which consists of starting the program 2-3 days before, to have more time for exposure to the height before the arrival of the rest of the group. Thus, you will probably achieve a better acclimatization.
